Trace Iron Analysis of Water by Solid Phase Spectroscopy
By subtracting Fe(II) from T-Fe, it is possible to determine the concentration of Fe(III)!
Our company conducts trace iron analysis of water using solid-phase spectrometry, allowing for measurements with higher sensitivity than conventional spectrophotometry. The colored complex generated by the reaction between the target component and the reagent in the solution is concentrated on an ion exchange resin, and the transmitted scattered light of the solid is measured with a spectrophotometer. Typically, expensive equipment such as clean rooms or ICP mass spectrometers is required for iron quantification analysis in the order of several μg/L. However, this can be achieved in a regular laboratory with relatively inexpensive equipment, and separate analysis of Fe(II) and Fe(III) oxidation states is also possible. 【Features】 - Capable of analyzing dissolved Fe concentrations in natural water down to the order of several μg/L. - Can be performed with relatively inexpensive reagents and equipment such as ion exchange resins and spectrophotometers (customization may be required). - Allows for quantification of Fe(II) and total iron (T-Fe) separately. - The concentration of Fe(III) can be determined by subtracting Fe(II) from T-Fe. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
